The Award money received in 2006 from the Ramon Magsaysay award was donated by Kejriwal in the Public Cause Research Foundation , which was formed by Manish Sisodia, abhinandan Sekhri and Arvind Kejriwal in December 2006.

Kejriwal established AAP in November 2012 so as to fight against corruption and in 2013 he became the Chief Minister of Delhi by defeating 3 times Chief Minister of Delhi Ms.Sheila Dikshit of the Indian National Congress. From 2012- 2013, Arvind Kejriwal became the fifth most talked Indian politician on social media channels. Prior to his resignation as Chief Minister of Delhi on 14th Feburary,2014, Kejriwal on 25th March, 2014 agreed to contest a seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections against BJP prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi from Varanasi, but lost to Modi.
